The operator of an all-terrain vehicle was killed early Sunday evening in a Nodaway County accident.
The highway patrol reports 56-year-old Mark Armentrout of Elmo, Missouri was pronounced dead at the scene on Route KK in Elmo.
It was almost 6 o’clock last evening when Armentrout was southbound on Double-K as the ATV crossed the center line as the rear started to spin counter-clockwise. The muffler struck a ditch causing the all-terrain vehicle to overturn and eject the driver. It came to a stop upright on the east side of the highway.
The report noted Armentrout was not using a safety device.
