There will be no community fireworks display in Trenton this year for the 2017 July 4th Independence Day holiday.

According to the Trenton Community Fireworks Committee, no fireworks display is planned because the committee was unable to secure a licensed pyrotechnician to shoot off the fireworks.

The cost to become licensed by the state, and the cost of insurance, are attributed to limiting the number of individuals available to perform fireworks shows.

It’s hoped a public show can be performed next year.

Persons, groups, and organizations wishing to assist or oversee those efforts are asked to contact the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce.
