Livingston County’s Prosecuting Attorney reports he will not file charges stemming from an investigation of the officer-involved shooting March 19th.

The Highway Patrol identified the victim as 33-year-old Kyle Eichler of Chillicothe.

Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren on his Facebook page announced that his review of the reports, scene photographs, video and other evidence gathered by the Highway Patrols’ investigation led him to conclude that the use of force by Deputy Sheriff and K-9 handler Nicholas Leadbetter was lawful and justified.

A news release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department stated deputies had experienced problems with Eichler during a traffic stop near Wheeling which resulted in Eichler being shot. He died later at Hedrick Medical Center.
