A new area beekeepers club will start next month and the group will meet for the first time in the Laredo Fire Station’s meeting room the night of October 16th.  A meet and greet will start at 6:30, and the meeting will be held from 7 to 8 o’clock.

Dan Cooksey explains that the purpose of the club is to give an opportunity to those interested in bees and becoming beekeepers to learn more information. He hopes veteran beekeepers will also be there to share their knowledge.

Robert Whitham says they especially encourage those wanting to learn about beekeeping and children to attend.

Attendees will learn what it takes to be a beekeeper and the equipment they need. He adds that once children get over the initial fear of being stung, they will enjoy beekeeping and benefit from it. Cooksey notes no dues will be collected for the club.

Call him at 660-654-3093 or Robert Whitham at 660-359-1702 for more information.
