(Lincoln Journal) – A Nebraska-based popcorn maker has bought a Missouri-based competitor.

Preferred Popcorn of Chapman announced last week that it has purchased K&W Popcorn, an organic popcorn maker based in Trenton, Missouri.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The K&W deal was Preferred Popcorn’s third acquisition since its founding in 1997 and will give it a foothold in the organic popcorn market. The company said in a news release that the purchase of K&W will allow it to meet the rapidly increasing demand for organic, non-GMO and allergen-free snacks.
