The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates beat the Graceland University JV on Thursday afternoon, winning by scores of 11-2 and, in a six-inning run rule shortened game, 13-0.
Coming off of a difficult performance in a second game loss on Tuesday afternoon at Southwestern, the NCMC pitching staff rebounded with superb work in Lamoni, with Jessica Stupar firing 5 1/3 innings of two-hit softball in the opener, improving to 12-7 on the season. Bethany Jacobsen cleaned up with 2/3 of an inning of work. TeriAnna Mohler is swinging a hot bat in this week’s swing through Iowa, with a double, a home run, and 3 RBI’s for the North Central clean-up hitter in Game 1. Madi Trump and Courtney Seymour both scored twice, while McKinley Hurley had two RBI’s, a run scored, and a double in three at-bats.
The Lady Pirates had a pair of six-run innings in the nightcap, putting up that crooked number in the 2nd and 6th innings. Hurley had another double and two RBI’s in a 3 for 5 hitting effort. Courtney Seymour was 3 for 4, while Madi Trump, TeriAnna Mohler, Jaclyn Weydert, and Amber Austin all had two hits. Austin and Mohler both had two RBI’s.
Allison Hilsabeck improved to 10-2, firing six innings of two-hit, shutout softball.
