Rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow are in the forecast today for Trenton and the surrounding areas.

A representative of the National Weather Service office in Pleasant Hill, Pamela Pietrycha says our temperatures will be an important factor in the accumulation amounts.

Sleet and snow accumulations are predicted from four to seven inches by tomorrow evening. Rain is moving from the south to the north today and is expected to become more widespread. The meteorologist talked about the transition.

The forecast for Friday night and Saturday also includes high winds that likely will contribute to areas of blowing snow. Ice accumulating on trees and power lines also could be somewhat of a factor. What’s the potential for power outages in this area?

As with any winter storm, the National Weather Service has advice for motorists who need to travel.
