The Trenton Area Ministerial Alliance will sponsor the observance of the National Day of Prayer at the Grundy County Courthouse in Trenton.

Ministerial Alliance spokesperson Dan Wilford of Laredo invites everyone to gather on the west side of the courthouse Thursday, May 2nd at noon. He says he will provide an introduction and welcome prior to the song “Love is the Theme”, which fits in with the overall theme of Love One Another. E. J. Barnes will lead the singing of that song as well as “Love Lifted Me”.

The event will also include the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag, a devotional by Tim Smith of the First Christian Church of Trenton, and a circle of prayer. Wilford notes the prayer will focus on the local community and needs of the country. Words and music will be provided for the songs.

Wilford says his goal for the National Day of Prayer observance in Trenton is to have enough attendees to circle the courthouse. If there is inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the courthouse.

The Mercer County Ministerial Alliance will also sponsor an observance for the National Day of Prayer with an event on the steps of the Mercer County Courthouse in Princeton Thursday morning at 7:30. A breakfast will follow at the Princeton United Methodist Church.

Another National Day of Prayer event will be at the New Life Church of Chillicothe Friday morning at 6:30.
