Mosaic Life Care Foundation in St. Joseph to host Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee

The Mosaic Life Care Foundation will host and sponsor the Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee in March.

The bee will be held at EmPowerU, located at 518 South Sixth Street in Saint Joseph March 7th. Registration will begin at 12:30, and the competition will start at 1 o’clock.

Fourteen Northwest Missouri counties will send their two top spellers to compete. Participants from this area include Joshua Truitt of Trenton Middle School and Jaiden Carter of Laredo R-7 for Grundy County.

The regional champion speller will compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, Maryland. National Spelling Bee Week is May 24th through 29th.

Regional bee judges for the event will be Jeanette Malita, Lori Witham, and JoLynn Venneman. Karen Heyde-Lipanovich is the director and will serve as a pronouncer.
