MoDOT planned road work in northern Missouri for the week of February 24, 2020

The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in North Missouri for the week of February 24 – March 1, 2020.

Though not listed below, some routes remain closed due to flooding. View routes closed due to flooding, as well as roadwork projects at http://traveler.modot.org/map/.

Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. There may also be moving operations throughout the region such as pothole patching, striping, signal work, etc., in addition to the work mentioned below.

Atchison County

Route 111 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Mill Creek Bridge near Corning. The bridge will remain closed through spring 2020.

Buchanan County

Route 116 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over I-29 through May 2020. There may be periodic lane closures northbound and southbound on I-29.

U.S. Route 36 – Ramps CLOSED for bridge maintenance: I-229 southbound to U.S. Route 36 eastbound, U.S. Route 36 eastbound exit ramp to 10th Street, and 9th Street on-ramp to U. S. Route 36 eastbound, Feb. 24 – 28 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily

Carroll County

Route C – CLOSED until further notice at the Branch of Turkey Creek Bridge due to damage from flooding. A project to replace the bridge with a box culvert is currently scheduled to be part of the March 2020 letting.

U.S. Route 65 – Bridge maintenance at the Shootman Creek and Mound Creek bridges, Feb. 24 – 28. Temporary traffic signals are in place to direct motorists through the work zone

Chariton County

U.S. Route 24 – Bridge replacement project at the Mussel Fork River and Overflow Bridges west of Keytesville through spring 2020. Traffic is being diverted over a one-lane, signalized bypass during the replacement of the Mussel Fork River Overflow Bridge.

U.S. Route 24 – Bridge replacement project at the Middle Fork Chariton River and Overflow bridges through March 2020. These bridges are part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. Traffic will be directed through the work zone with temporary traffic signals. A 10-foot width restriction is in place.

Clinton County

Route DD – CLOSED for tree removal, Feb 24 – 25, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily

Route 116 – Pavement repairs from Route K to U.S. Route 169, Feb. 24 – 28. Temporary traffic signals are in place to direct motorists through the work zone

Daviess County

Route 13 – Roadside work northbound from Brook Street to Clay Street, Feb. 25 –26

Route 6 – Pothole patching from Route CC to Route 13, Feb. 27 – 28

Holt County

Route T – CLOSED until further notice at Mill Bluff Road due to roadway damage

U.S. Route 159 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over the Little Tarkio Creek through spring 2020.

U.S. Route 159 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over I-29 (Exit 79) near Mound City through the end of May

I-29 – CLOSED for the bridge replacement project on U.S. Route 159 (Exit 79), Feb. 26 – 27. During the 24-hour closure, traffic will be directed up and over the ramps.

I-29 – Utility work at U.S. Route 59 near Craig, Feb. 24 – 25 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

Route 111 – Brush cutting between Oregon and Forest City, Feb. 24 – 28

Nodaway County

Route NN – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route EE to Liberty Road, Feb. 24 – 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily

U.S. Route 136 – Roadside work eastbound from the One Hundred and Two River to Jet Road, Feb. 24 – 25

Route OO – Brush cutting, Feb. 24 – 28

Route AA – Drainage work, Feb. 25 –26

Route 246 – Drainage work eastbound from Route 148 to the east city limits of Hopkins, Feb. 26 –28

Sullivan County

Route PP – CLOSED until further notice at the East Medicine Creek Bridge after a regularly scheduled inspection revealed critical deterioration to the structure. The bridge was part of the January 2020 letting and a contract was awarded to Widel, Inc. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program.

Worth County

Route YY – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Middle Fork of the Grand River. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. The bridge will remain closed until spring 2020.
