MoDOT planned road work in northern Missouri for the week of April 6, 2020

The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in North Missouri for the week of April 6 – 12.

All road closures for roadwork, incidents, and ongoing flooding can be viewed on the Traveler Information Map at http://traveler.modot.org/map/.

Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. There may also be moving operations throughout the region such as pothole patching, striping, signal work, etc., in addition to the work mentioned below.

Andrew County

Interstate 29 – Bridge replacement project over Hopkins Creek and Route T (mile marker 58-60) through January 2021. Median crossovers being built. Traffic will move head-to-head in mid-April.

Route E – Drainage work from Banyon Street to U.S. Business Route 71, April 4 – 10

Atchison County

Route 111 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Mill Creek Bridge near Corning. The bridge will remain closed through mid-April.

Route U – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project south of Phelps City through the end of May. This bridge is a part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program.

Route B – Drainage work from Route 275 to I-29, April 6 – 10

U.S. Route 136 – Bridge maintenance at the East Fork Little Tarkio Creek and Little Tarkio Creek bridges, April 8

Buchanan County

Route 116 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over I-29 through May 2020. There may be periodic lane closures northbound and southbound on I-29. Motorists can expect delays. 

Route 6 – Resurfacing project from just east of Route AC (Riverside Road) to Route 31 (DeKalb County) through September

U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) – Resurfacing project from I-29 (Exit 50) to Route FF. It begins April 3 and continues through August. The project will include single-lane closures on the Belt Highway and complete closures of some side streets.

Karnes Road – CLOSED to the east of the Belt Highway for a resurfacing project, April 8 – 21. This will be an around-the-clock closure.

Route HH – Culvert replacement 1 mile west of Route JJ, April 7

Route V – Chip seal from Route V to the Platte County line, April 8

Route 6 (Frederick Avenue) – Bridge maintenance over I-29, April 9 – 10

Caldwell County

U.S. Route 36 – Resurfacing project in the westbound lanes only from the Livingston County line to Route 13 through mid-April

Route J – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 36 to Route 6 (Daviess County) through mid-April. There is a 10-foot width restriction in place.

Route 13 – Pothole patching from U.S. Route 36 to the Ray County line, April 6 – 8

Route 116 – Pothole patching from Route D to Route A, April 8 – 10

Carroll County

Route C – CLOSED until further notice at the Branch of Turkey Creek Bridge due to damage from flooding. The project to replace the bridge was part of the March 2019 letting and was awarded to Gene Haile Excavating, Inc. The project schedule has not yet been determined.

U.S. Route 65 – Bridge rehabilitation 2 miles north of the Missouri River through mid-May. Traffic will be down to one lane with a 17-foot width restriction and temporary signals are in place to guide motorists through the work zone.

Route Z – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route T to Route C, April 7 – 9, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily

Chariton County

U.S. Route 24 – Bridge replacement project at the Mussel Fork River and Overflow bridges west of Keytesville through April

Clinton County

I-35 – Resurfacing project from the Clinton/Clay County line to just north of Route 116 through mid-July

U.S. Route 69 – Concrete replacement from 4th Street to Cornhill Road, April 6 – 8

Daviess County

Route J – Resurfacing project from Route 6 to U.S. Route 36 (Caldwell County) through mid-April. There is a 10-foot width restriction in place.

Route 6 – Bridge maintenance over Route MM and I-35, April 6

Route B – Pothole patching, April 6 – 10

Route B – Bridge maintenance at the Hickory Creek and Cypress Creek bridges, April 7

Route RA – Bridge maintenance at the East Brushy Creek Bridge, April 7

DeKalb County

Route A – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over the North Fork of Lost Creek through June. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. 

Route 6 – Resurfacing project from Route 31 to just east of Route AC (Riverside Road, Buchanan County) through September

Grundy County

Route W – Pothole patching, April 6 – 10

Harrison County

Route N – Bridge maintenance over I-35, April 6 – 10

I-35 – Bridge maintenance at the East Fork Big Creek Bridge (mile marker 94.2), April 9

U.S. Route 136 – Bridge maintenance at the Sampson Creek Bridge in New Hampton, April 9

Holt County

Route T – CLOSED until further notice at Mill Bluff Road due to roadway damage. The project to replace the bridge was part of the March 2019 letting and was awarded to Amino Bros. Co., Inc. The project schedule has not yet been determined.

U.S. Route 159 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over the Little Tarkio Creek through the end of May. 

U.S. Route 159 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over I-29 (Exit 79) near Mound City through the end of May. 

Route T – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over Spring Creek through April. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program.

I-29 – Bridge deck replacement project over Route E and Kimsey Creek through August. These bridges are a part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. A 16-foot width restriction is in place.

Route E – CLOSED to through traffic for a culvert replacement, April 6 – 10, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily

U.S. Route 59 – Shoulder work from Oregon to I-29, April 6 – 10

Linn County

Route 139 – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Arbor Road to Argo Road, April 6, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 139 – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Afton Road to Route DD, April 7, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route E – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route 139 to Atom Drive, April 9, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

U.S. Route 36 – Concrete replacement from Route TT to Route 11, April 6 – 7

U.S. Route 36 – Concrete replacement from Route 11 to Route F, April 7 – 9

U.S. Route 36 – Concrete replacement from Route F to Route 5, April 9 – 10

Livingston County

U.S. Route 65 – Bridge rehabilitation project over the Grand River through November. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. 

Route 190 – Bridge rehabilitation project over the Thompson River through November. The bridge is part of Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program. A 10-foot width restriction is in place. 

U.S. Route 65 – Bridge maintenance at the Shoal Creek Overflow Bridge, April 6 – 9. Temporary traffic signals will guide motorists through the work zone.

Nodaway County

Route JJ – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Fairway Road to Festival Road, April 6, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

U.S. Route 71 – Bridge maintenance northbound over the White Cloud Creek Bridge, April 6 – 7

Route FF – Pothole patching from U.S. Route 71 to Route B, April 6 – 7

Route 246 – Drainage work in the Hopkins city limits, April 6 – 10

U.S. Route 136 – Bridge maintenance over at the Nodaway River and Mill Creek bridges, April 8

U.S. Route 71 – Bridge maintenance at the Nodaway River Bridge, April 8

Route 148 – Pavement repair just north of U.S. Route 71, April 8 – 9

Route YY – Pothole patching from Route C to U.S. Route 136, April 9

Sullivan County

Route PP – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the East Medicine Creek Bridge through early July. 

Route 139 – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route 6 to Tucson Road, April 8, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Worth County

Route YY – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Middle Fork of the Grand River through early May.

Route W – Drainage work west of Route B, April 6 – 10

Route W – Shoulder work, April 7 – 10
