Missouri State Highway Patrol officers of Troop B, Macon, will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. during the 2016 July Fourth holiday weekend.

Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) is a national traffic enforcement program aimed at making holiday weekends safer. During this enforcement operation, all available troopers will be assigned to patrol Missouri highways, not only aggressively enforcing traffic laws but also to be available in the event motorists experience any type of emergency.

Additionally, Troop B officers will be conducting a holiday travel crash reduction effort on U.S. Highways 24, 36, and 63 on July 1, 2016, and July 4, 2016. During this enforcement program, additional troopers will be assigned to these heavily traveled roadways in an effort to step up traffic enforcement with a goal of reducing traffic crashes over the holiday weekend.
