Missouri Rx program coverage will expire at the end of the month for members with Medicare only due to a law passed in 2014.

The last day members can receive help with prescription drug co-payment costs from MO Rx is June 30th.

Prescriptions filled after that date will not be covered by the program.

Seventh District State Representative Rusty Black of Chillicothe wants seniors affected by the discontinuation of their MO Rx coverage to know there is a Missouri-based non-profit mail order pharmacy which provides affordable prescription drugs to thousands of seniors across the country.

Black says Rx Outreach provides access to more than 800 generic medications and serves seniors in all 50 states.

He encourages interested seniors to contact the company for more information by visiting the RX Outreach website or by calling 1-877-684-1955.

There are also four other resources MO Rx members may check for assistance.

Those are MO HealthNet, The Partnership for Prescription Assistance, Community Leaders Assisting the Insured of Missouri, and Area Agencies on Aging.
