The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control has announced the arrest of Billy J. VanDeven, 60, from Patton, Missouri.
VanDeven faces charges including one count of third-degree assault, one count of fourth-degree assault, one count of third-degree kidnapping, and property damage. The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Troop E Criminal Investigations Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
The investigation began after Marble Hill Chief Kristin Nenninger requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control on August 1, 2024. The request was made following allegations involving VanDeven in an incident that reportedly included assault and property damage. The case was then transferred to the Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney, who was appointed as the special prosecutor.
After reviewing the findings of the Patrol’s investigation, a warrant for VanDeven’s arrest was issued by Bollinger County on August 9, 2024. VanDeven voluntarily surrendered to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office on August 12, 2024, and subsequently posted a $2,500 bond.
