Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce President Debbie Carman spoke during the Missouri Day Festival Opening Ceremonies held at the First Baptist Church Thursday evening.

With rain in Saturday’s forecast, Carman emphasized that the festival will go on rain or shine, and as far as parking for those attending the festival, Carman says that shouldn’t be a problem.

Carman noted there are 18 food vendors and more than 160 vendors this year.

She also introduced the North Central Missouri College Pirate, who will be one of the Grand Marshals for the Missouri Day Parade Saturday morning. The Trenton R-9 Bulldog and Grundy R-5 Panther mascots will be the other grand marshals.

The theme for the festival is “Missouri Day Salutes Education” and has 74 registered entries and 31 marching bands.

The parade will be broadcast on KTTN-FM 92.3 as well as the KTTN YouTube channel starting at 8:30 Saturday morning through sponsorship of PDQ Cleaning Services of Trenton.
