(KUSA) – An elderly couple from Sterling who police said had signs of dementia and hadn’t been heard from by family since leaving for a trip to Missouri on Saturday has been found safe.

Sterling Police say Jerry Marshall, 77, and Patricia Marshall, 72, left the eastern Colorado city early Saturday morning. They were headed to Missouri. Their daughter reported them missing after they forgot to bring their cell phones and personal belongings with them.

They were found on Tuesday evening in Macon, Missouri — a nine-and-a-half hour drive from Sterling.

They were last spotted earlier Tuesday in Columbia. They had also been seen in Topeka, Kansas.

Their intended destination was Seymour, Missouri — which is approximately four hours south from where they were found.
