The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Mercer woman on a felony charge of passing a bad check of $500 or more with no account or insufficient funds.

Fifty-nine-year-old Vickie Russell was arrested Monday.

Her bond is set at $1,100 cash only, and she is scheduled to appear in the associate division of circuit court March 28.

Court documents accuse Russell of passing a bad check, with the purpose to defraud, in the amount of $680 drawn upon a nonexistent Academy Bank account and payable to the Money Store knowing that the check would not be paid.
