Mercer County woman dies in Sunday afternoon crash

fatal accident

The Highway Patrol reports an accident in Mercer County has claimed the life of an Humphreys resident, 23-year-old Courtney Bain.

Courtney Bain was pronounced dead at the scene four miles southeast of Princeton.

The highway patrol said Courtney Bain was westbound on Route E when the pickup she was driving traveled off the north side of the road, the driver overcorrected causing the truck to travel into the eastbound lane, then it went off the north side again where it struck an embankment. The pickup came to rest on its top and was demolished in the 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon accident.

Bain was thrown from the pickup in the Sunday afternoon crash and the patrol reports she was not using a seat belt.

Courtney Bain is the second traffic fatality this year in Mercer County that was investigated by the highway patrol.
