Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra to begin season on Sunday

The Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra will begin its 55th concert season Sunday afternoon.

The free concert will be held in the Harold L. Lickey Auditorium of the Bueker Middle School in Marshall at 2:30.

The program will feature flutist Kristine Poulsen performing Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D Major.” Poulsen is a staff member at Missouri Valley College in Marshall.

Other selections will include Mendelssohn’s “Fingal’s Cave Overture”, Grieg’s “Holberg Suite”, Balmage’s “On Top of the World”, and Tippette’s “Unconquered”.

Conductor Kevin Lines will direct the concert with a meet and greet reception to be held immediately following the performance.

Horn player Buddy Hannaford of Trenton is a charter member of the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra.
