Marshall man in custody charged with sodomy involving a juvenile

A Marshall, Missouri man remains in custody after being formally charged in Saline County with allegations of sodomy involving a juvenile.

According to online court records, Monoleto Morand, 43, of 10 East Porter Street in Marshall faces a felony charge of sodomy or attempted sodomy in the first-degree with a victim of less than 12-years-of age. He also faces a felony charge of sodomy or attempted sodomy in the first-degree.

Morand is accused of soliciting as well as attempting to engage in inappropriate sexual acts with a juvenile on numerous occasions. The first reported encounter with Morand by the victim was in January 2018.

Morand currently remains in custody at the Saline County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond. The conditions of his bond indicate that he is not to possess or use drugs or alcohol, and he is to have no contact with anyone under the age of 17. If he is released on bond, he will remain under house arrest and will be required to have GPS monitoring.

The next court appearance for Morand is scheduled for 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 4th before Judge Bellamy in Marshall.
