Personnel, school lunch prices, and bids were among topics last night for the Laredo R-7 Board of Education.

Contracts were accepted from Alicia Rojas for speech language pathology at ten hours per week; and from Melissa Perry for occupational therapy for approximately two to four hours per week.

The board agreed to offer a contract to Melody Prescott as parents as teachers representative in a part time sharing position with the Pleasant View R-6 School.

Approval was given to increase by a dime, the cost of a school lunch at Laredo.

The new rate for the next school year will be two dollars and 20 cents per lunch. The change was described as necessary to meet federal school lunch requirements.

Bids will be advertised for milk, propane, and diesel fuel. Bids were accepted last evening from Duane Campbell to replace the door at the east end of the building; and from Moore’s Home Center to do some flooring work at the school. A report was given in that building maintenance was progressing nicely.

Among upcoming meetings, Laredo R-7 school board meets June 13th in regular session and on June 23rd to have a special meeting to close out the current fiscal year. Both public meetings begin at 6 o’clock in the evening.
