Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox reports a suspect swallowed unknown contents of a baggy while being arrested in Utica Saturday night.

Cox says a deputy stopped a vehicle with out of state plates for traffic violations and found two men on probation or parole occupying the vehicle.

He reports the driver was found to be in possession of alleged methamphetamine, as a baggy was placed on the hood of the car.

Cox says the driver reportedly resisted arrest, grabbed the baggy, and swallowed its contents, however, the suspect was eventually handcuffed and taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment.

Cox added the suspect was later transferred to a Kansas City hospital for further treatment.

A report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney and Probation and Parole Office.
