The LCSO began an investigation of hit and run/property damage on Liv 306. The license plate was recovered and the vehicle owner has been interviewed. Report being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge.

The LCSO began an investigation of a stolen vehicle after receiving a call of a pickup stuck in a field near Chula. It was subsequently determined the same vehicle had allegedly been stolen from a residence in Chula. The vehicle is owned by a company located in Kansas. Certain evidence was collected and will be examined by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab. The investigation Continues.

A school resource officer assisted the CHS administration of allegations of alcoholic beverage(s) being on school property. One student was found to be in possession of 1 unopened alcoholic beverage container which had been distributed by another student. Parent(s) were notified and the school is taking administrative action. The report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge.

A school resource officer assisted the CHS administration of allegation a student was in possession of alcoholic beverage(s) in their vehicle. A search of the vehicle on school property resulted in the seizure of a marijuana smoking pipe. Parent(s) were notified and the school is taking administrative action. A report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge.

The LCSO began an investigation of Identity Theft and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device. The Victim reported discovering a debit card number had been used without consent in another state. Investigation continues.

A deputy conducted a Check the well-being of a family at the request of another agency. All people were interviewed and determined everything was okay and no crime committed.

The LCSO completed an investigation of a Registered Sex Offender allegedly having moved from a reported residence and not notifying the LCSO of the change of address as required by law. The suspect had moved from the 300 block of Edgerton to an unknown location. Report being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.

The LCSO began an investigation of harassment and property damage to a vehicle. The Victim reported receiving harassing calls/messages from a specific person and the victim’s vehicle paint was damaged when the vehicle was parked and unattended. The suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

Registered Sex Offender Violation investigation is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge after information was obtained the suspect failed to properly give notice to the LCSO of change of address. Information obtained suggests a false address was given in an attempt to remain compliant with registration requirements but conceal the true address. Report submitted to prosecuting attorney for consideration of charge.

A deputy responded to a location on U.S. 36 for a vehicle fire. Deputy subsequently seized marijuana and a variety of drug paraphernalia from the vehicle. An Illinois man was cited for possession up to 10 grams marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Arrests:

February 4 a deputy issued a Kansas City man a citation for 87 in a 65 on U.S. 36 and Highway C.

February 4 a deputy issued a Maryville driver a speeding citation for 88 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Liv 408.

February 6 a deputy issued a Trenton woman a speeding citation for 80 in a 60 on U. S. 65 and Liv 214.

February 7 a deputy arrested Hannah Marie Schwanke, 31, Ludlow, on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class E felony of subsequent dog bite resulting in serious injury. Ms. Schwanke posted the bond and was released pending next court appearance.

February 10 a deputy arrested Darek Anthony Mashburn, 28, Bethany, MO on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on a class A misdemeanor charge of Assault 3rd degree. Mr. Mashburn was unable to post the $5,000 bond and was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.

February 14 the LCSO conducted a traffic stop on a wanted person and subsequently arrested Corey David Stottlemyre, 40, Chillicothe, wanted on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original class A misdemeanor conviction of Violation of an Order of Protection for Adult. Bond had been placed at $25,000 cash and Mr. Stottlemyre was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.

February 15 Jason Randall Dewey31, Chillicothe, surrendered to the LCSO on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class C felony possession of controlled substance. Mr. Dewey was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail (DDCRJ) in lieu of bond.

February 21 a deputy completed a Trash Dumping investigation on Liv 261. A suspect was identified and issued a citation for the littering violation.

February 2 a deputy issued a Chillicothe man a speeding citation for 85 in a 55 on Highway W.

February 10 a deputy issued a Bethany driver a speeding citation for 75 in a 60 on U.S. 65 and Liv 210.

February 11 a deputy issued a Chillicothe driver a speeding citation for 87 in a 65 on U.S. 36 and Liv 259.

February 14 a deputy issued a Wheeling man a citation for alleged Driving While suspended.

February 18 a deputy issued an Illinois resident a speeding citation for 89 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Liv 259.

February 19 a deputy issued an Illinois resident a speeding citation for 86 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Utica.

February 19 a deputy issued a Smithville resident a speeding citation for 87 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at the Grand River.

February 19 a deputy issued a Chillicothe woman a citation for Failing to Register Motor Vehicle annually with Dept. of Revenue (Expired October 2016).

February 20 a deputy issued a Trenton driver a speeding citation for 90 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Liv 259.

Additional Information:

The LCSO is currently holding 40 detainees in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail (DDCRJ), 8 of which are female detainees.

The Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail notified the sheriff last week that a male Livingston County detainee had done significant damage to a jail cell and flooded an area with water. That person is currently being held on a Livingston County warrant for Sex Offender Registration Violation.   Potential additional charge(s) in Daviess County are pending.

The LCSO has remained very busy with a variety of continuing investigations, assisting other agencies, detainee issues, staff illness, and a great deal of court bailiff and security.
