Livingston County Library to feature free “Roots and Blues” concert

Continuing the Library’s tradition of having an end of the year concert, the Livingston County Library will present a free “Roots and Blues” show by KC’s Grand Marquis on Friday, December 30th at 3:30pm.

Grand Marquis, plays a unique combination of American roots, blues, and Prohibition-Era jazz. The band has 7 albums and plays over 100 shows a year.

This 5 piece band is known throughout the region and has won many accolades since forming in 1998, including Best Jazz Band and Best Blues Band in Kansas City and were a finalist at the International Blues Challenge.

“We are thrilled to bring musicians of this caliber to our area. The Library’s tradition of having music at the end of the year is our way to thank our community for their support of the Library,” states Library Director Robin Westphal.
