Livingston County Health Center announces 2nd case of COVID-19

The Livingston County Health Center has announced the second positive case of the Coronavirus in Livingston County. The case is not travel-related, and the patient is quarantined at home.

Health center staff is working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to determine close contacts of the individual who were possibly exposed. Health officials are to provide guidance to those contacts and monitor them for symptom development.  No patient information was released due to HIPAA privacy laws

The Livingston County Health Center urges the public to continue to take precautions, including good hygiene, social distancing, and limiting in-person interactions. Anyone who is sick, particularly with a fever, a cough, or shortness of breath, is asked to stay home and contact a health care provider or an urgent care center for guidance on symptoms and the next steps.

As of Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 4,388 cases of COVID-19 and 114 deaths caused by the virus in the state.
