Linn County Health Department confirms first case of COVID-19

The Linn County Health Department has confirmed the first positive case of the Coronavirus. The test result came from a private lab.

The health department of Linn County reports the patient is self-isolating to decrease the risk of exposing others. The department also stated it will provide no other information regarding the report.

The health department is following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Missouri department of health and senior services.

Health officials are working to identify and contact people who may have come in contact with the individual while they were infectious and will monitor as appropriate.

The number of positive test results has climbed to 1,327across the state. From the north-central Missouri area, the list includes four positive cases in both Clinton and Chariton counties; three in Macon county; two in Adair; and one apiece for Harrison, Livingston, Ray, and now Linn County.
