Two drivers received what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries when a car and a tractor-trailer collided about one-half south of Marceline on Thursday afternoon.
The Highway Patrol listed the drive of the car as 90-year old Dorothy Downing of Marceline. Fifty-year old John Gladbach of Marceline was driving the truck. Ms. Downing was treated at the scene and released. Gladbach declined treatment.
The car driven by Dorothy Downing had allegedly (according to the Patrol) failed to yield and turned into the path of the truck, which hit the car in the rear. The Highway 5 accident occurred at 2:20 PM, demolishing the car and causing minor damage to the large truck. Both drivers were using seat belts.
