Light agenda on tap for Trenton City Council meeting

The Trenton Police Personnel Board is to make a recommendation at Monday night’s Trenton City Council meeting to fill a police officer vacancy. The board interviewed two applicants for the police officer job.

There’s a light agenda for the city council meeting which includes an ordinance authorizing the city to enter into a lease-purchase agreement with First Security Finance Incorporated. The agreement is for the acquisition, construction, equipping, and installation of a modular fire training tower.  The agenda also includes various reports and any remarks from the public.

The council meeting is Monday night, January 28th at 7 o’clock at City Hall and follows a meeting of the Trenton Building and Nuisance Board that starts at 6 o’clock.

Several items are on the agenda for the Building and Nuisance Board, including a Declaration of a Nuisance at 1802 Carnes, public hearings regarding 409 east 19th Street, 510 West Crowder Road, 812 Grant, 813 Olive Street, and 2002 Chicago.

The agenda also includes Findings of Fact at 200 West 7th, 212 West 7th, 302 East 7th, 1312 Gilmore, and 1011 Custer Streets; and a Certificate of Existence of a Dangerous Building at 912 Grant Street.

Other topics before the board include the demolition program for the current fiscal year and other properties of concern.

The Trenton City Council’s Utility and Administrative Committees meet Tuesday night at City Hall.

The utility committee, at 6 o’clock, is to hear a presentation of a net metering report and to discuss the cost of street lights at the new Dollar General store. The agenda for the administrative committee includes discussion regarding trash bid specifications.
