Life Options Green Hills Pregnancy + Health Center announces the hiring of Michaela Koon of Chillicothe to be the Nurse Manager.
Michaela attended nursing school at North Central Missouri College and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2019. She has been a nurse at Hedrick Medical Center since June 2019. Michaela is passionate about providing accurate medical information and compassionate care to women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy and connecting them to other community resources available to them in the Green Hills communities we serve.
Michaela will oversee the medical services of Life Options as well as the prenatal and parenting education program. Medical services will include free pregnancy tests, limited obstetric ultrasounds and eventually STI/STD testing. The evidence-based prenatal and parenting education program will include a 20-week series of classes pertaining to prenatal care, childbirth, and parenting. Participants in the program will earn points that they can use to receive baby items including diapers, wipes, clothes, and other baby needs from our “Baby Boutique.”
Michaela has been married to her husband, Dustin Koon, since July of 2018. They reside on a farm in Chillicothe and both attend Rural Dale Baptist Church, where they are active in Sunday worship, leading a small group bible study and volunteering during Vacation Bible School. They enjoy fishing, horseback riding, putting around on their side-by-side, and just being outside together, enjoying each other and God’s beautiful creation.
Life Options Green Hills Pregnancy + Health Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pregnancy help center located in Trenton that will also serve the surrounding Green Hills communities. All services are free and confidential.
Due to the COVID-19 situation the opening date of the office is unclear, however, they are looking into providing “virtual” counseling and referral services in the near future if they are unable to open physical doors.
