The National Association of Letter Carriers will hold its 27th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Saturday, May 11th to help area residents who may not have enough to eat.

Non-perishable food donations can be placed in the plastic bags provided by mail carriers and placed by mailboxes early Saturday. Only non-perishable items will be accepted. No glass, homemade items, damaged packaging, or already opened foods will be accepted.

Donations will stay in the local area and monetary donations can also be made to the Second Harvest Community Food Bank of Saint Joseph. Money can be placed inside the envelopes that are provided inside the plastic bags. The envelopes should be stamped and placed inside mailboxes. Each five dollar donation helps to provide 15 meals.

Second Harvest, Hy-Vee, Kansas City Power and Light, and Feeding Missouri sponsor the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
