The Highway Patrol reports a Lawson man sustained serious injuries when he was ejected from his vehicle in a one-vehicle crash in northwestern Ray County Saturday.

Twenty-year-old Brett Yager traveled north on Route C when his vehicle reportedly crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the road about 131 feet north of West 222nd Street. The vehicle then returned to the road before traveling off the right side and striking an embankment, overturning and ejecting Yager before coming to rest on its top blocking Route C.

The vehicle was totaled and the patrol noted he did not wear a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Lawson Fire and Rescue transported Yager to the Liberty Hospital.

The Ray County Sheriff’s Department and the Lawson Police Department assisted at the scene.
