Laredo School Board holds regular meeting, approves numerous teacher contracts

The Laredo Board of Education, on Monday night, received preliminary salary information for its review.  No action was taken during the meeting.  By a vote of 4-2, the contract of 7th and 8th grade teacher Tammy Meeker, working under a tenured contract, was renewed.

Non-tenured contracts to probationary teachers Trisha Sharp (Art), Abbie Herrold (Physical Education and Health), Lendy Donoho (Title 1/Guidance), and Penny Tolle (part-time Librarian) were unanimously approved.

A bid has been received from Lockridge, Constant, and Conrad, and subsequently approved by the Laredo Board, to perform the district’s audits over a three-year period.  This year’s cost is $3,950.00.  The charge will increase by $100.00 in the second and third years of the contract.

A bid from Huber Brothers, to mow this season, was approved.  The charge for each mowing job will be $100.00.  A field trip for the third through eighth graders in the Laredo District, to travel to Hannibal, was approved.  The trip will be Thursday, April 28th.

Applications for the Murphy Scholarship were due today (Tuesday, March 15th).  A scholarship committee will review any applications and announce the winner after April’s board meeting at Laredo.
