The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the extradition of a Laredo resident on a capias warrant for failure to appear in court and the arrest of a Trenton resident on a technical probation violation.

Fifty-two-year-old Duane Lawrence Jeffers Junior was released from Jasper County, Iowa and extradited to Grundy County on Tuesday. He is accused of failing to appear on felony possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid. Jeffers’s bond is $15,000, 10% cash approved.

Thirty-eight-year-old Victor Tunnell was arrested on Monday and is accused of violating his probation by being in possession of a Beretta Model U22 gun. His original charge was forgery, and Tunnell’s bond is $5,000, 10% allowed.

Jeffers and Tunnell are scheduled for Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court on March 12th.
