The Laredo R-7 Board of Education set the candidate filing period for the April 2nd Municipal Election at its meeting Monday evening. Candidates may file at the school office from December 11th to January 15th. Terms up for reelection are Sheila Thompson and Kristi Urich for three-year terms.
The office will be closed from December 21st at 1 o’clock to January 7th at 8 o’clock as well as for inclement weather.
The board approved the graduation date of May 6th, the eighth grade trip for April 26th, and a Christmas movie for December 21st. A fifth through eighth-grade winter dance and policy updates were also approved. The final 2017-2018 audit will be presented to the board at the December meeting for approval.
After an executive session, it was announced the board approved paying long-term substitutes an additional $20 after 10 days for a certified position.
