The Laredo R-7 Board of Education hired Melani Proctor as a paraprofessional on January 10th after an executive session.

During the regular meeting, the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan was reviewed. The plan has been updated to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations related to COVID-19.

The board election was reviewed. The candidate filing period ended on December 28th. Incumbents Kristi Urich and Angie Lowrey filed for three-year terms. Board Secretary Robin Griswold says the board will not need to hold an election in April since the number of candidates who filed and the number of open positions are the same.

Elementary basketball practice will start on January 24th for the third through sixth grades.

A reading night will be held on March 31 and a spring program is to be held on April 26th.
