The Laredo Board of Education has agreed to allow third through sixth-grade girls and boys to participate in the 5th and 6th grade basketball seasons after the first of the year.
The board approved renewing insurance through Missouri United School Insurance Council for such things as property, liability, buses and workman’s compensation. The cost for next year is nearly $12,000.
The board updated its emergency management plan and noted an all-school Christmas program will be held the night of December 15th at 7 o’clock in the school gymnasium.
An 8th-grade trip is tentatively May 5th and graduation is tentatively set for May 8th. The 8th-grade trip location also has not been determined.
Persons wishing to run for the Laredo Board of Education in April can file at the school December 13th until the afternoon of January 17th at 5 o’clock. The school office will be closed the afternoon of December 21st at 1 o’clock until the morning of January 3rd at 8 o’clock. The office also will be closed for inclement weather.
There are three, three-year terms to fill.
