Sixty-year-old Curtis Daniels of Kirksville received moderate injuries and was flown by medical helicopter (air evac) to the University of Missouri Medical Center. The driver of the second vehicle was 45-year-old Kelley Frost of Novinger.

Daniels apparently had a medical episode causing the vehicle he was driving to strike a road sign, cross the northbound lanes of Highway 63 and came to rest off the east shoulder. Debris from the accident struck the northbound pickup driven by Ms. Frost.
