Kirksville man life-flighted after suffering medical episode on Highway 63

Life Flight Helicopter

A Kirksville resident was injured while a resident from Novinger escaped injury in an accident late Sunday

Sixty-year-old Curtis Daniels of Kirksville received moderate injuries and was flown by medical helicopter (air evac) to the University of Missouri Medical Center. The driver of the second vehicle was 45-year-old Kelley Frost of Novinger.

Daniels apparently had a medical episode causing the vehicle he was driving to strike a road sign, cross the northbound lanes of Highway 63 and came to rest off the east shoulder. Debris from the accident struck the northbound pickup driven by Ms. Frost.

Both drivers were using seat belts and damage was extensive to the Daniels pickup and minor for the Frost pickup.

Assistance was provided by the Macon County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, Macon County Sheriff’s Department as well as the Macon County Rural Fire Department.
