King City man dies in weekend crash

A King City man was killed, and a Country Club resident was hurt, in the collision of a car and a pickup truck at the intersection of two county roads west of King City.

Pronounced dead at the scene was the driver of the Pickup, 26-year old Aaron Flora of King City.

The driver of the car, 76-year old Beverly Kier of Country Club, was taken by private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph with minor injuries.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon three miles west of King City at the intersection of county roads 111 and 116 when the pickup was northbound and the car was traveling east when they collided at the intersection. The pickup driven by Aaron Flora overturned before coming to rest on its side on county road 111 throwing Flora from the vehicle.

The car came to rest on its wheels on the other county road with extensive damage and the pickup was demolished.

Kier was wearing a seatbelt, Flora was not using a safety device.
