Main Street Chillicothe and other organizations sponsor “Kids Christmas” events today in downtown Chillicothe, at the Livingston county courthouse and Silver Moon Plaza
Shopping begins at 4 o’clock for the youth to purchase gifts in the lobby of the Courthouse.
A program begins at 5:15 in the Silver Moon Plaza. This includes a prayer by Reverend John Rice of the United Methodist Church. Christmas songs will be sung by the Central School students directed by Dan Venner. A Salvation Army official will be offered time to make remarks about their annual holiday campaign.
Micah Landes and Chuck Haney are to be emcees for the plaza events and Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance.
Also today, horse-drawn sleigh rides are to be available in downtown Chillicothe.
Besides Main Street Chillicothe, others helping to sponsor the Kids Christmas events include Chillicothe Rotary Club, city of Chillicothe, the Chillicothe R-2 School District, Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chillicothe State Bank.
