Kelly Puckett sworn in as Grundy County Special Prosecutor

Grundy County will have a new prosecuting attorney by the end of this week.

According to the Grundy County Circuit Clerk’s office, Kelly Puckett of Cameron has been appointed by Presiding Judge of the 3rd circuit, Thomas Alley. Beginning on Friday, February 1st, Puckett is to serve in the capacity of “special prosecutor” until an appointment is made by Governor Mike Parson. Current Grundy County Prosecutor Carrie Lamm Clark has resigned to take a full-time job as attorney adviser with the Missouri National Guard.

The website for the Puckett law firm P. C. states Kelly received a law degree from the Washburn School of Law. He also obtained a criminal justice degree, with a minor in legal studies, from Missouri Western State University. The law firm began in 1996 with the Cameron office located at 616 Lana Drive.

The Grundy County Prosecutor’s office is in the former county sheriff’s office and jail at 8th and Washington in Trenton. A swearing-in ceremony for the new special prosecutor was held in Harrison County this morning.
