The highway patrol reports a Kansas City man arrested in Caldwell County Wednesday was accused with a myriad of charges after leading officers on a high-speed chase.

Marcus Brown is accused of speeding 110 miles an hour in a 65 zone, speeding 79 miles an hour in a 65 zone, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, resisting arrest by fleeing, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, driving the wrong way on a highway, felony possession of a controlled substance, and possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana.

21-year-old Brown was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

Highway patrol Information Officer Jacob Angle said Brown was taken into custody after the vehicle he was driving hit spike strips deployed on Highway 36 at Hamilton. Sergeant angle explained that ended a pursuit that began on Highway 36 when an officer attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding.

Brown was taken into custody without incident and there were no injuries.

Sergeant angle said the pursuit included a change of directions and the vehicle was reported stolen.
