Kansas woman injured when deer runs into path of vehicle on I-35

A Kansas woman was hurt Saturday evening south of Bethany when the car she was driving hit a deer on Interstate 35.

Fifty-six-year-old Monica McCormick of Eureka, Kansas was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany with moderate injuries.

The accident happened six miles south of Bethany on I-35 when the southbound car hit the deer when the animal ran into the path of the vehicle.

The car was extensively damaged and McCormick was wearing a seatbelt.
