A jury trial has been scheduled in Clinton County in a case involving drug-related charges for a Maysville man facing felony charges in Nodaway County of second-degree murder and abandonment of a corpse.
Kenneth Wykert waived formal arraignment this week and entered a plea of not guilty on felony possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
The cause was continued to April 29th at 9 am for a jury trial with a pre-trial conference scheduled for March 9th. A jury trial for the murder and abandonment charges is scheduled to begin in Nodaway County on March 30th.
Wykert was previously identified as the boyfriend of Leah Dawson of Maysville who went missing June 5th and whose remains were found June 26th.
