Judge disposes of bad check cases in court on Tuesday

Among several cases processed Tuesday in Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.

The state filed amended information charging Drake Wayne Brown of Trenton with misdemeanor peace disturbance and he pleaded guilty to the new charge. Brown was sentenced to six days at the Grundy County Jail and given credit for time served.  Brown also is to contribute $300 dollars to Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund.

Brandy Knapp of Trenton pleaded guilty to two counts of violation of a protection order for an adult and three counts of passing bad checks. On each count, she was fined $200, required to donate $100 dollars per count to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund and make restitution of $85 dollars to the prosecuting attorney.

Utica resident Kory Neal pleaded guilty to four counts of passing bad checks. Neal was fined $200 on each count and ordered to make restitution of $913 to the prosecuting attorney.

Brookfield resident Kasey Riggen pleading guilty to a bad check charge. Riggen was fined $200 and ordered to make restitution of $100 dollars to the prosecuting attorney’s office.
