Wright Memorial Hospital recently announced its 2019 Employee of the Year.

Jamie Kottwitz, registered nurse II at Wright Memorial Hospital, was presented with the award at a ceremony held in her honor on February 17. Other nominees were 2019 Employee of the Quarter winners: Cheryl Hamilton, Sue Knapp, and Kaycee West.

Kottwitz has been with Wright Memorial Hospital for the last two years and worked a previous three-year stint at the hospital earlier in her nursing career. In her nomination form, co-workers mentioned that “Jamie is an integral member of the Wright Memorial team. She is proactive and recognizes when coworkers need an extra hand both within and outside of the department. She picks up extra shifts to assist other departments and floats wherever she is needed while maintaining a positive attitude. Jamie has a real knack for keeping our patients calm, informed, and comforted.”

Kottwitz and her husband Nathan have been married 13 years and share three sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and working outdoors, and going on walks.

In recognition of the award, Kottwitz’s name will be engraved on a permanent plaque within the hospital, she will receive a parking space of her choice for a year, acknowledgement in the local media and hospital employee intranet, and she will be honored at the Saint Luke’s Health System Annual Awards Reception.
