The Jamesport City Council voted to roll back the merchant’s license fee and refund the difference at its meeting Monday evening.

The fee will be $10 a year instead of $25 as the council discovered that the increase was done based on misinformation.

Ray Bontrager was sworn in as mayor, Geoff Eads as the northward councilman, and Gary Alexander as the southward councilman.

Bontrager presented outgoing mayor Jack Turner and outgoing councilman Chris Ford with a resolution recognizing their years of service to the community.

An ad will be put in the paper searching for part-time summer help.

Signs will be purchased restricting parking in front of the city building adjoining the city hall.

The council heard information about their insurance policy regarding the Jamesport Community Association firework display. The policy has a specific exclusion for firework displays.

Wayne Scott invited the city to attend an informational meeting in regards to a sidewalk grant at the Spillman Event Center Monday, April 17.
