Gary Webber from the Missouri Rural Water Association presented water survey findings during the Jamesport City Council’s meeting Monday evening.

The findings suggested Jamesport Water Company needed to increase its water rates for its customers and the council approved the suggested increases. The water rate will be raised to $23 for the first 1,000 gallons and $11 for each additional 1,000 gallons. The increase will begin on the April water usage.

City Council members Rob Murphy and Freda Garner were sworn in and City Clerk Shelley Page says the offices will stay the same for the year. Geoff Eads will continue as street commissioner, Gary Alexander as mayor pro-tem and Rob Murphy as finance.
