The Jamesport City Council approved an ordinance Monday evening regarding raising the city water rates beginning with the April billing. The increase would increase the minimum service fee by $1.00 to $24.00 and each additional gallon of water would go from one point one cent to one point one seven five cents.

Street repair bids were reviewed, and Griffin Asphalt and Construction was hired for a street project to take place this summer. City Clerk Shelley Page says the bid was for $71,827.

Nuisance properties were discussed, and it was noted letters will begin this month. Council Member Rob Murphy suggested sending letters on the downed limbs in town, focusing on Auberry Grove, Broadway, and Locust.

The council approved replacing the sliding glass in the city hall’s service window for $735.
