The Jamesport City Council this week approved purchasing a new door to replace the walk-in door at the former fire station.
Also approved was the purchase of a handheld radio read device to program GPS and a salary ordinance. The ordinance involved Superintendent Trent Brewer and utility personnel Ray Bontrager receiving a raise of $1 per hour and Brewer an additional raise of 50 cents per hour as superintendent.
The council accepted an audit report for the year ended June 30th, 2019. The audit received a clean opinion for the year.
Mayor Dana Urton announced filings for the April election will begin December 17th at 8 o’clock in the morning and go until the evening of January 21st at 5 o’clock.
Council positions up for reelection are Rob Murphy for North Ward and Freda Garner for South Ward.
