Illinois man hurt after striking pickup following farm implement near Hamilton

An Illinois man was hurt when the sports utility vehicle he was driving hit the rear of a pickup truck east of Hamilton.

60-year-old James Stromer of Westchester, Illinois was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 42-year-old Melissa Webb of Breckenridge, was not reported hurt.

The accident happened late Saturday morning two miles east of Hamilton on Highway 36 as both vehicles were eastbound. The pickup was following a farm implement with flashers on when the SUV hit the rear of the pickup. The SUV then spun clockwise 180 degrees, coming to rest on Highway 36.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.
